Saylor-Beall 1.5 HP Pressure-Lubricated 715 Series
The Saylor-Beall 715 Series is a professional-grade, two-stage reciprocating compressor designed for consistent, low-volume industrial air. Built in the USA, this series utilizes the heavy-duty Model 703 pump, known for its ultra-low operating speed of 400 RPM, which significantly reduces noise and wear.
Tank Orientation & Capacity
The 715 series offers both vertical and horizontal configurations to suit your floor plan:
- Horizontal Tank Models: The “classic” shop layout. These units are lower to the ground, offering a more stable center of gravity and easier access for maintenance.Copy to a new draft
- Vertical Tank Models (VT): Designed to save valuable floor space, making them ideal for corner installations or crowded work areas.
Both orientations are available in two standard industrial capacities:
- 60-Gallon: A compact reserve for standard pneumatic tool use.
- 80-Gallon: Provides a larger air buffer to reduce motor cycling and heat buildup during heavier workloads.
Lubrication Configurations
- Splash-Lubricated (Standard 715): The reliable industry standard. It uses a simple dipper-style system to lubricate internal parts. This is the most cost-effective choice for stationary applications on level floors.
- Pressure-Lubricated (PL-715): The premium “PL” models include a positive displacement oil pump that forces filtered oil to the rifle-drilled crankshaft and rod bearings. It includes a spin-on oil filter, making it the best choice for severe-duty or 24/7 operations.

Why Choose the 715 Series?
Unlike lighter-duty consumer compressors, the 715 is a two-stage unit that provides higher pressure and better efficiency. The Model 703 pump is constructed entirely of cast iron—including the head and cylinders—to ensure superior heat dissipation and structural integrity for a lifetime of service.
