Saylor-Beall 705 Series Replacement Pump (3 – 5 HP)
The Saylor-Beall 705 is a legendary heavy-duty, two-stage industrial pump designed to handle the rigorous demands of a full-time shop. Built with American-made cast iron, the 705 is engineered to deliver higher CFM at 175 PSI while maintaining a low RPM. This balance of power and slow rotation ensures that the 705 remains one of the quietest and longest-lasting pumps in its class.
Available Lubrication Configurations
- Standard Splash Lubrication (Model 705) The most common configuration for general automotive and industrial use.
- Mechanism: Employs rugged dippers on the connecting rods to throw oil onto the internal components. This creates a consistent lubricating mist within the crankcase.
- Benefit: High reliability with minimal maintenance. It is the cost-effective choice for shops where the compressor operates on a standard 50/50 or 60/40 duty cycle.
- Pressure Lubricated (Model 705-PL / L-Series) The choice for “mission-critical” air and extreme environments.
- Mechanism: Utilizes an integrated oil pump and a rifle-drilled crankshaft. This system pumps filtered oil under pressure directly into the rod bearings and wrist pins.
- Benefit: Essential for continuous-run applications or installations where the pump might be subjected to vibration or slight tilting. The forced-feed system significantly reduces friction heat during long-duration cycles and includes an external oil filter and pressure gauge.
